Retrospective 2021 – Successful kick-off for OMDF

Since the first grant application window closed in December 2020, more than 44,000 eligible products have been submitted by OMDF grant recipients.

The majority of products distributed (77%) have more than one light point. Nearly all distributions (93%) were accompanied by consumer financing, either through microcredit (22%) or pay-as-you-go (71%).

The end customers are mainly households (95%) and 52% are female users.

Distributions in the Diana, Analamanga and Sofia regions are the highest, while the lowest distribution rates are registered in the Melaky, Ihorombe and Androy.

Currently, the OMDF RBF facility has 16 beneficiaries. In addition, two distributors and one microfinance institution have received a loan.

The grant and loan applications window will remain open until the limit of available funds.

We therefore invite you to submit your project that will help improve the solar sector in Madagascar.
